

Auburn - Gilberte M. Laberge, age 94, longtime resident of Tampa St. in Lewiston passed away Saturday morning November 19th at The Hospice House with family at her side. She was born in Lewiston March 5, 1917, a daughter of Alfred and Celina (Roy) St. Pierre. Mrs. Laberge was educated in local schools, remained a lifelong resident of this community and was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church. In 1943 she married Josephat Laberge who predeceased her in 1974. Gilberte first worked for some years at the Pepperell Mill, then spent a number of years at T.J. Murphy Furiers and later retired from Owen Moore Clothing Store in 1980. Among her favorite enjoyments were spending time with family, cooking and entertaining, as she was often referred to by her family as the "Hostess with the Mostess", taking off in her car and going for day trips to different places, she especially enjoyed spending time at the ocean. She was an avid Red Sox fan and she also thoroughly enjoyed holding yard sales at her home and selling her quality merchandise. She was a loving, devoted and hard-working mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She leaves two daughters Joan Dunton and husband Ron of Lewiston; and Linda Ducharme also of Lewiston; nine grandchildren Michael Randall and wife Jenny, Jeffrey Randall and wife Mary, Christopher Randall and wife Beth, Kara Randall, Jason Ducharme, Angela Ducharme, Andrew Laberge and wife Crystal, Kimberly Campbell and husband Al and Scott Laberge and wife Kim; 13 great-grandchildren; and two nephews Norman Castonguay and wife Colleen and Roger Nolin and wife Wanda. Gilberte was predeceased by her son Richard Laberge, son-in-law Whitney L. Randall and her four sisters Annette, Viola, Liane and Rita.
