

AUBURN - Guy F. Donohue, 86, of Auburn died Tuesday November 4th at home with family by his side. He was born in Auburn, Sptember 21, 1922 the son of Martin F. and Rose M. (Rivard) Donohue. Guy grew up in Lewiston and attended Lewiston schools. He was in the Army serving in World War II at the Battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He had also served as an interpreter under General Patton while in France. On February of 1946, he married Gloria Lerette together they had five children. Later he married Patricia Miles Clark they were married forty years. Together they had one daughter. Guy was a past member of Toastmasters. He was a member of 1st Auburn Seniors, Robin Dow Seniors, and the American Legion Post 31. He was employed for 34 years at Snow's Tires and then had been employed at Gates Formed Fiber retiring at age 75. He loved boats, travel, hunting, fishing, and watching sports on TV especially the Boston Red Sox and golf with Tiger Woods who he affectionately called "Woodie". Survivors include his wife, Patricia M. Donohue of Auburn, one son, Michael R. Donohue of Auburn; five daughters, Carol A. Proteau and husband, Larry, Barbara J. Gervais and husband, Clement, Judy A. Dupile and husband, Clifford all of Lewiston. a daughter, Kathleen B. Vosmus and husband, Wesley of Westbrook. A stepson, Timothy P. Clark and wife, Joann of Lisbon. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy R. Donohue, two brothers, Joseph and Eugene Donohue as well as one sister, Rita J. Donohue. DONOHUE died in Auburn, November 4, 2008, Mr. Guy F. Donohue age 86 years a resident of Auburn. Memorial services honoring Guy's life will be celebrated SATURDAY 1:00PM from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Reverend Joseph Daniels presiding. Military honors to follow at the conclusion of services. Burial will be private at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
