Born on May 13, 1952, to Adrian and Rita Fortin, Irene was the second eldest of seven children. On June 1, 1973, she married the love of her life and soulmate, Edward P. Poulin. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Amy and Eddie.
If you ever met Irene, you knew her authenticity was unwavering. She was the same warm, steady, and loving person now as she was 30 years ago. If you remember her then, you remember her exactly as she was last week. Her spirit never changed, her kindness never faded, and her love for others never dimmed.
She possessed a generous spirit, an unwavering faith in Jesus, and a deep love for her family. Her days began and ended with prayer, her home was filled with love, and she never missed a chance to remind those around her how deeply she loved them. She lived the life she loved—full of connection, laughter, and a presence that made everyone feel special.
Irene will be greatly missed by her husband, Edward Poulin; her daughter, Amy, and husband Eric Zamrock; her son, Eddie Poulin, and his partner Stacy Robitaille; and her grandchildren - Marisa Zamrock and partner Todd Nelson, Kyle Zamrock and partner Emily Dube, Tawni Zamrock and partner Ty Thompson, Sydney Poulin, and Addison Poulin. She also leaves behind her extended grandchildren, Ryne Robitaille and Evie Robitaille; her great-grandson, Ryker Heinlein; her six siblings; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws who loved her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Monday, December 22, 2025, at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, with visiting hours from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. There will not be a funeral service.
In remembrance of Irene’s favorite color, blue, and her saying, “Blue, blue, I love you,” the family welcomes guests to wear a touch of blue in her honor.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Irene's memory by filling your birdfeeder. Take a moment to watch the birds and appreciate the beauty of nature. This simple act serves as a meaningful tribute and a way to remember the joy that Irene found in God's creation.
"Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live, even if he dies."
