James J. Welch

James was educated in the schools of Porter, ME. He worked in many places during his life and was always ready to help anyone in need. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle ways.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Welch of Lewiston along with his two beloved cats, Patches and Blackey. He also leaves behind his siblings, Arthur Welch and his wife Marianne of Cornish, Alfred Welch of Nevada, Norma D’Onfrio and her husband Edward of Massachusetts and Robert Welch and his wife Luanne of Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Tom.

WELCH---James J., 75, of Lewiston died January 20, 2017. A memorial gathering celebrating James’ life will be held on Friday January 27, 2017 at Fortin\Lewiston from 12-2pm. Burial will be at the family cemetery in Cornish at a later date. Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, may make a charitable contribution in his memory to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society 55 Strawberry Ave. Lewiston, ME 04240 in appreciation for his love for animals.
