Jeannine J. Marquis

Auburn- Jeannine J. Marquis of 129 Switzerland Rd., Lewiston, went to Heaven on March 18. Born in Lewiston on May 5, 1937 to Roland and Irene (Allen) Moreau, Jeannine was a graduate of Lewiston High School class of '55. Although diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 18, in 1957, she married Maurice Marquis and went on to raise a family. She worked for Hood's Mailing & Printing typing at home while raising her children, and worked for the Lewiston School hot lunch program once her children started school. Due to complications with MS, she retired in 1974. Jeannine was an avid Patriots Fan and Boston Bruins Fan. She enjoyed watching old shows on television, playing cards in her younger years, and spending time with family. Her faith was very important to her, and she prayed often. She had a beautiful smile that would light up a room. She is survived by her sister Connie (Pete) Gauthier, children: Marcel (Bonnie) Marquis, Diane (David) Greene and Debbie Marquis, grandchildren: Michael (Traci), Erika (Jason), David, Kim (Jason), Ryan (Hannah), Jessica, (Kevin), Brandon (Jessica), Amy, Christopher and Haylee; 15 great-grandchildren, her former husband Maurice Marquis; sisters in law Laurette Gagne, Joline Laplante, and Bernie Marquis; nieces Pauline Gauthier, Jackie Chabot, and Rita Gigliotti. Visitation Fortin Lewiston Wednesday March 19 from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 20 at 11 AM at The Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul (Upper Church).
