Joan Crabtree Williams passed away peacefully at The Lamp Memory Care Center in Lisbon, Maine, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. She was born December 9, 1939, the daughter of Phyllis and Kenneth Crabtree. She attended Fairfield schools and graduated from Fairfield High School with honors. She was in the Daughters of the American Revolution and played clarinet in the marching band. She was an active member of Fairfield Baptist Church.
Joan lived for her family and friends. She enjoyed family get togethers whether at home, camp, or traveling. She especially loved the annual Crabtree reunion, where she was able to connect with many family members that she might not see otherwise. She was a Campfire Girls Leader for her daughters Pamela and Kelly. She graduated from Husson College with a secretarial degree. She held numerous secretarial jobs throughout her adult life, retiring from TD Bank North after 17 years, at 71 years of age. She was a generous, loving woman, not only to her family, but also giving to many charities. She loved to laugh, often poking fun at herself, and enjoyed coincidences, which she called “coinkidinks”, and could pun around with the best of them.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Charles Williams, who passed away in 1981. She is survived by her children Pamela Callinan and husband Edward, Kelly Harriman and husband Paul, Gregory Williams and wife Jane, and Amy Callinan and husband Sean; grandchildren Matthew Williams and wife Alyssa, Ryan Harriman and wife Chelsea, Katherine Cheroske and husband Julian, Jessica Dechaine and husband Donny, and Rachel Harriman; great grandchildren Christian, Owen and Brynn Williams, Josiah, Harper, Haven and Navy Cheroske and Eloise Dechaine.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM on Monday, November 20, at Pinette Dillingham, and Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, Maine; followed by a funeral service at 10:00. AM
