Joseph Rene Jalbert

1923 - 2012

Lewiston- Joseph "Rene" Jalbert 88, died Friday February 10, 2012 at Marshwood Center in Lewiston. Rene was born in Lewiston on March 14, 1923 the son of the late Andrea and Marie (St. Pierre) Jalbert. He married Yvonne Gauthier on April 18, 1953.

Before his retirement in the late 1970's he worked at Bates and Edwards Mills in Lewiston and Augusta. He really enjoyed "people watching", joking and teasing anyone he knew.

Rene is survived by a brother Romeo Jalbert and wife Mary Lou, a sister Georgette , three nieces Rose-Marie Gauthier, Lina Haskell and husband Mark, and Jane Bernier and husband Richard, and many grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Yvonne two sisters, Annette and Juliette and a brother Donat.

The family would like to thank Odd Fellows Home, where he had lived for the past 6 years, for the wonderful care given to him. He always said "he never had it so good."
