

LEWISTON Laurence “Larry” S. Lessard, Jr., 72 a resident of Stevens St., Lewiston died unexpectedly Sunday with his family by his side following complications at Central Maine Medical Center. He was born in Lewiston, March 6, 1939, the son of Laurence N. and Ameda (Paquette) Lessard. He was educated in Lewiston schools and worked both in the local shoe and textile industries retiring from Bates Mill due to illness. Larry was an avid model plane enthusiast having built both electric and gas powered model planes then flying them with his friends. He also had a model train collection as well as a vast vintage model car collection. He also enjoyed photography always carrying his camera where ever he went so as not to miss that special shot. He also loved working with wood and was a regular handy-man around the house. Following retirement he enjoyed traveling especially to Aruba and on board luxury liner cruises which were both his favorite vacations. Survivors include the love of his life for the past 35 years, his wife, the former Sheron Levesque of Lewiston, one brother, Gerald “Jerry” Lessard and companion, Diane Dubois of Lewiston, two sisters, Liane Asselin of Lewiston, and Claudette Clark and husband, David of Lewiston, four nieces, Kim Gee, Rochelle Clark, Julie Levesque and Jennie Lwanyaga and husband, Alex, two nephews, Lynn Asselin and wife Sylvia Jason Levesque and wife Krista. Also surviving is one brother in law, Tony Levesque and wife, Del of Lewiston as well as one Godchild, Tyler Gee. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Donald in 2001. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial honoring Larry’s life will be celebrated SATURDAY 11:00AM at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul of the Prince of Peace Parish. Committal prayers to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
