

LEWISTON- Laurier P. Duval, 83, died on Saturday December 5, 2009, at his daughter's home in Lewiston, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lisbon, Maine on February 13, 1926, the son of Joseph and Celina (Bolduc) Duval; the youngest of 12 children. He attended schools in Lisbon and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1944 through 1946. He married Carmen Beauchesne at St. Mary's Church in Lewiston on November 11, 1946. He was employed at the Farnsworth Mill in Lisbon for 24 yrs and he retired from Pioneer Plastics after 18 yrs of employment. Larry was a member of the American Legion Post 22, Knights of Columbus, Jacques Cartier and the Franco American War Veterans. He enjoyed playing cards, camping, boating, dinner dances and summer gatherings with family and friends. He loved trips to Florida to visit family. Survivors include his companion Irene Gauthier; Three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Rose) Maley, Mrs. Gerald (Florence) Laroche and Helen Coombs; Two sons, Roger of Burnham, Richard and wife Tessa of Oxford and Daughter-In-Law Mrs. Conrad (Cheryl) Duval; One daughter Diane Theberge and her companion Robert Fontaine; Nine grandchildren, Dina Duval of Cape Elizabeth, Chief Bryan Duval (U.S.N.) and wife Jessica of Virginia, Cher Binette of Auburn, Dr. Eric Duval DO and companion Bailey Foster of Oklahoma, Jeffrey Duval of California, Matthew Duval of New Hampshire, Jaime Beranek and husband Rob of Michigan, Sarah Leclerc and husband Derek of Lewiston, Samantha Theberge and fiancée Kenneth Pedersen III of Lewiston; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marie Aldrich, Ida White, Mabel Roy, Alice Caron, Cecile Laroche and Juliette Berube and brothers, Arthur and Joseph Duval. One grandchild and one great grandchild. His wife Carmen in 2002 and son Conrad in 2003. NOTICE Duval- Died in Lewiston Saturday December 5, 2009. Mr. Laurier P. age 83 a resident of Lewiston. A Funeral Mass honoring Laurier's life will be celebrated on Wednesday 9AM at Holy Cross Church. Committal services with Military Honors will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
