Louisette P. Plante

Lewiston - Louisette P. Plante, 83, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday October 13, 2013 at D'Youville Pavilion. She was born in Frenchville, Me., March 31, 1930, the daughter of the late Abraham and Mary (Hebert) Dionne. She attended local schools graduating from Lewiston High School in the class of 1948. On May 31, 1965 she married Roger Plante in Waterbury CT. In 1977 she moved back to Lewiston and worked as a CNA at D'Youville Pavilion where she worked for several years caring for the elderly until she retired. She enjoyed her retirement, spending much time with her husband in Florida. Louisette enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her family, baking, knitting, sewing and playing bingo. She was well known for her wedding and all occasion cakes. She particularly loved camping with her husband and children for over 35 years. Competitor Dominos was one of her favorite activities along with making Baby Bonnets for preemies at the hospital. Louisette is survived by her husband of over 48 years, Roger Plante, 5 sons: Paul Pelletier and wife Susan, Raymond Pelletier, Richard Pelletier and wife Laurie, Roger Plante Jr. and wife Janice and Gary Plante, 3 daughters: Janet Robinson and husband Robert, Lisa Hubbard and husband Scott, Denise Hurilla and husband Ray, 2 brothers: Herman and Conrad Dionne, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 28 nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Dionne and grandson Hunter Hubbard. The family would like to thank the staff at 4 West at D'Youville Pavilion for the excellent care and love showed to Louisette during her time there.

Visitation will be held on Monday at The Fortin Funeral Home, Lewiston, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at Holy Cross Church at 11:00 AM.
