Maurice H. Dion

Born in Lewiston on July 4, 1940 the son of the late Joseph and Merilda (Paquette) Dion.

He was educated in Lewiston schools through the eighth grade.

He married Lorraine M. Lagasse on June 4, 1966. Together they proudly owned and operated Uncle Moe’s Diner in Sabattus for twenty-four years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served in the Army Reserves. He was an avid fisherman across the state of Maine.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine of forty-nine years; one son Daniel Dion and his wife Ann-Marie of Sabattus; two grandchildren Brady Dion and Casey Dion; a sister Rita Perreault and her children David Perreault and Michele Jellison; a brother Paul Gravel and his children Paul and Ann Marie; a Goddaughter Christie Dion; nephews Leo Demers and Arthur Vigue; nieces Nancy Withers and Kim Billings.

He was predeceased by a brother Roger Dion; and four sisters Cecile Demers, Lorraine Vigue, Germaine St. Cyr and Pauline Duplessis.

Dion- Died in Auburn on Sunday January 31, 2016. Mr. Maurice H. age 75 a resident of Sabattus. A Memorial Mass honoring Maurice’s life will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday from 4-6 PM at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston 784-4023.
