Michael J. Poulin

LEWISTON - Michael J. Poulin, 64 resident of Lewiston passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 13th, 2011 after a four year valiant battle with cancer. He was born on June 9th, 1947 son of Mathias and Elise (Pelletier) Poulin. Married 45 years to the love of his life and soul mate Elaine (Knowlton) Poulin. Michael passed just shy of their plans to celebrate in January their fifty years together. They have four beautiful daughters.

Michael graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1965. He owned and operated Michael's Hamburg House on Lisbon Street. Later became District Manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken. He opened their first restaurants throughout Maine. He later found his passion in the financial world establishing Downeast Financial Group. He became Lewiston -Auburn's first Certified Financial Planner. His love for his work and his clients shined through to all who knew him. Besides his devotion to his work he spent many years serving his church, Holy Family Parish. He was a Catechism teacher, President of the Parish Council and could be found working many hours during Holy Family Days and the Dinner Shows. He found great joy working in the community and helping people. Michael was often described as a happy, positive and loving man and his laugh was loved by all. Above the love he had for his family and friends was the love he had for his God. Michael had a great love for his home and could often be found on his hill enjoying nature. Michael and Elaine's home was always a gathering place for family and friends filled with life and many happy memories. He is survived by his wife Elaine (Knowlton) Poulin.

His four daughters Deborah Pomerleau and husband Tim. Laurie Ann Poulin, Julie Ann Poulin and husband Christopher Goding, Joyce Michelle Poulin. His eight grandchildren Jessica Pomerleau, Michelle Elaine Sanborn, Jenna Cote, Matthew Michael Poulin, Alexis Gordon, Ayden Goding, Lainee Michael Goding, Shaelyn Elise Poulin and three great grandchildren.

Survived by four siblings his sisters Pauline Look and husband Harry. Joanne Landry and husband Gerald. Two brothers Richard Poulin and wife Monique. Edward Poulin and wife Irene.

Also, half-brothers Bruce and Danny Poulin. Half-sister Michelle Bussiere. .
