Pat attended many schools due to her being an “Army Brat.” She graduated from UMO with a Civil Engineering Degree in 1981. Pat was one of the first woman to be hired in her field for the Department of Veterans Affair. Pat oversaw constructions of veteran hospitals and clinics across the country and was proud that she was of service to our U.S. veterans.
Her true passion was nurturing and sponsoring abandon dogs, especially Dobermans and other large dogs. Doby, Aurora, Rocket, Ariel, Trudy and Jenna all became part of her family. She trained some to be therapy dogs who visited nearby nursing homes and hospitals.
Pat enjoyed creating from her fabric “stash” many quilts, Halloween costumes, and other projects. She also enjoyed crocheting, working in her flower garden, was involved in Girl Scouts both as a member and as a leader, and was an avid “Trekkie.”
Pat was predeceased by her beloved father and is survived by her loving mother; her devoted dog, Jenna; and her four siblings, Michael and his wife Karen; John and his wife Monique; Denise Begin and her husband Ron; and sister, Cathleen. She doted on her six nephews and their children.
Our family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to people at Sarah Frye Home, Clover Healthcare and Beacon Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Pat during her time with them.
Pat will be deeply missed by all those lives she touched and especially by her family.
