Paul R. Picard, 82, of Lewiston, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday April 6, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lewiston on January 12, 1929 a son of the late Armand J. and Maria D. (LeBlanc) Picard. He married the former Constance G. Bosse who predeceased him on September 30, 2005 after 48 years of marriage. Paul was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served on the U.S.S. Fitch. He was an avid outdoorsman and passed on that same passion to his two sons. He was employed for many years as a television repairman. In his later years, one of his greatest pleasures was traveling the Maine Coast and listening to big band music. Paul was liked by everyone he met and had a wonderful sense of humor. His grandchildren will surely miss "Pepere". He is survived by his children: David Picard and his wife Priscilla of New Hampton, NH, Lisa Rines of Leeds, Debra Polley and her husband Alton (Butch) of Greene, Brian Picard and his companion Debbie of Lewiston; 7 grandchildren: Patrick and Jason Rines, Jacob, Emma and Justin Polley, Jennifer, Jordan and George Kalioras; 2 brothers: Donald Picard of CT and Oscar Picard of Lewiston and a sister Doris Picard of Lewiston. Paul also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend many thanks to the staff of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and especially Michelle Hammond and Stephanie for their excellent care and compassion.
