Paulette D. Gravel

Lewiston- Paulette D. (Dugal) Gravel, age 61, of Poland, Maine, passed away on Tuesday (August 13, 2013) at Central Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through more than 18 months of grueling treatment. Yet even throughout her own struggle with Cancer she remained positive. Throughout her life she maintained a demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter and joking around will never be forgotten. Paulette was the daughter of the late Gerald B. Dugal and Pauline (Ste. Marie) Dugal and was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 22, 1952 and graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School with the class of 1970. She was the oldest of seven children and leaves behind four sisters (Monique Niva, Celine Dugal, Connie Gullette and Jackie Blais) and two brothers (Bert and Ray Dugal). She was united in marriage to her best friend of 43 years, Paul A. Gravel, the proud mother of two children, Anne-Marie (Gravel) Galiastro and Paul B. Gravel and proud mother-in-law to Joseph Galiastro and Jessica Gravel. Paulette loved to dance, read, travel and play - especially with her Grandchildren (Avery, Kendall, Dominick and Gabriella). In 2007 Paulette retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, as a Supervisor, after 31 years with the company. Funeral services honoring Paulette’s life will be celebrated on Saturday at 12:00 PM at The Pathway Vineyard Church on Foss Road in Lewiston. Committal services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home in Lewiston, 784-4023.
