LEWISTON - Pauline M. Champoux, 84, a resident of Pine Street in Lewiston died at home surrounded by her family on Memorial Day after a brief illness. She was born on August 5, 1929 to Ludger & Yvonne Michel. She married Maurice Champoux on June 6, 1953. She and her husband started the Champoux Insurance Agency growing it from a two-person operation to a multi-location operation with more than 30 employees. Pauline focused on the financial portion of the business and had an unmatched ability to work with numbers. She was also a great at promoting and referring new customers even after retiring.
Pauline was a selfless person who always put others needs ahead of her own. She loved people and touched them in so many different ways. Anyone who met her immediately recognized her genuine interest and concern. She spent hours teaching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the importance of education. She was patient and caring which made her a wonderful teacher and example to all. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who always made time for others. She loved being surrounded by family, extended family and friends. Her heart was an open door that welcomed all and nobody that talked to her left without feeling better or having some resolution to a problem. Her optimism and real zest for life was contagious. Her presence lit up a room. To her family she was everything. The world will never be the same without Mom, Memere and Aunt Pauline. She has promised that she would now be our angel looking down on us.
She is survived by her daughters Louise Champoux and Diane Champoux and her husband Dick Albert; her grandchildren Jonathan Nagy and his wife Paula, Christopher Nagy, Stephen Nagy II and his fiancée Danielle Tortorich, Michele Bolduc and her husband Ryan; her great grandchildren Mia Nagy, Lauren Bolduc, Landon Nagy, Reese & Alec Nagy & Charlotte Nagy; and her extended family the Bilodeau/Toussaint family.
A special thank you to all her wonderful caregivers from Florida to Boston to Lewiston. You all made it possible for her to make it back home to her family and friends.
