

Sabattus - Raymond J. "Duffy" Dufour, 64, of Sabattus, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday February 3, 2011. He was born in Lewiston on January 9, 1947, a son of the late Claude and Irene (Lacasse) Dufour. On June 19, 1976 he married Louise Morin. They worked and raised their children in Lewiston. Raymond was known as a very hard worker who never missed a day of work. He owned and operated his own bar, Duffy's Place, in the mid to late 90's. He worked as a cook and bartender at many of the favorite local restaurants in the area. Although retired since 2008, he could never stop working completely and he continued working part-time at The Chickadee Restaurant in Lewiston. He was a member of The Webber Social Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles 618, and The American Legion of New Auburn. He was loyal and devoted to his many friends and family even at times when he didn't have much, what he had he shared. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, loved watching sports and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. Raymond is survived by his two sons; Jay Dufour and his wife Mauri of Lewiston, Curt Dumais and his wife Karen of Lewiston: one daughter; Lynsey Dufour of California: four grandchildren; Camren and Conner Dufour, Kati and Chad Dumais: his former wife, Louise Dufour of Lewiston: four brothers; Robert, Jerry, Lou and Donald, several nieces and nephews; very special friends Paul Roy, Bob Bedard and many other good friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two sisters; Dorothy Rodrigue and Cecile Gilbert.
