

Lewiston - Rene Bosse, age 86 and longtime resident of Lewiston, died Tuesday evening March 7th at CMMC with his family at his side. He was born July 8, 1930 in St . Jacques, New Brunswick Canada, one of eight children born to Magloire and Maria (Lemieux) Bosse. Rene was educated in Canada schools and remained there until he and his wife Angeline came to the United States in 1960. While in Canada, Rene worked many years as a Lumberjack and continued to work in the woods for several years after coming to the U.S. Upon immigrating to this country, he and his wife settled in Lewiston to raise their two children. After leaving the lumberjack industry, he worked several years as an electrical contractor building power lines for Seaward Construction where he started as a line worker until his retirement as a foreman. Rene was a member of Holy Cross Church and was an avid outdoorsman. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and as a family, he, his wife, children and grandchildren enjoyed camping all over the state of Maine, at both campgrounds and lakes, for many years. He was a true family man who thoroughly enjoyed good times with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a loving, devoted and hard-working husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Angeline Bosse of Lewiston; his daughter Suzanne Charest and husband Raymond of Auburn; five grandchildren Raymond C. Charest, Crystal (Charest) Isgro and husband Paul, Lacey Charest, Michelle (Bosse) Velilla and husband David and Shawn Bosse; five great-grandchildren; four sisters Antonia Toussaint, Renelle Clavet.Eva Lebel and Lillian Berube all of Canada and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Gilles Bosse and three brothers Reno, Lucien and Antonio Bosse.
