LEWISTON- Richard "Rick" E. Howes, 55, of Lewiston died early Sunday morning July 4, 2010 on his wedding anniversary at his residence following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Skowhegan, Maine on August 19, 1954 the son of Jim and Rose Howes.He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1972. He was employed as a roofing Forman at Hahnel Brothers Company in Lewiston. Richard enjoyed spending time camping with his wife Mary, Spider, Johnny and family and friends. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, the Dallas Cowboys, Bruins, Red Sox and going to the ocean with his wife. He was a member of the The Pastime Club, Eagles 618, National and 20M Club. He is survived by his wife the former Mary Barnies whom he married on July 4, 1998 of Lewiston; his father Jim Howes; two brothers Steve and his wife Kelly of Jay and Ron Howes and his wife Carolyn of Leesburg, FL.; his mom Barnies, Sheila Barnies, Blanche Levesque, Stanley and Lorie Barnies, Pete and Carlene Barnies, Adam and Tina Barnies, Martha and Dan Fortin, Billy and Wendy Barnies, Melody and Jerry Poisson, Nellie and Ray Levesque, Tammy and John St. Amant and Mike and Donna Barnies; He was loved by his many nieces and nephews; and special friends Normand and Cheryl Levesque and Kathy Lavoie. He was predeceased by his mother Rose Howes who died in 1999; his brother-in-law Stevie Barnies; and brother Jimmy Howes. NOTICE Howes- Died in Lewiston Sunday July 4, 2010. Mr. Richard "Rick" E. age 55 a resident of Lewiston. At the request of the family there will not be any formal funeral services.
