

Auburn - Richard C. Turcotte, Sr., 72 of Lewiston passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. He was born in Lewiston, January 5, 1941 son of the late Maurice and Juliette Paradis Turcotte. He was educated in Lewiston schools and was married to Irene (Anita) Gosselin on January 10, 1959 at St. Peter & Paul Church. He was employed 25 years as an electrician at Bates Mill then operated his own business, Astro Electronics for four years. After retirement he drove bus for Hudson Bus Lines. Richard was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul and enjoyed his grandchildren who he was very devoted to. His hobbies included playing cards, off-track betting, electronics, watching old westerns, snowmobiling, boating and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irene "Anita" ; a daughter, Vickie Poto and husband Thomas and a son, Richard Jr. and wife DelAnne all of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Tyler Turcotte, Jessica Poto, Alec Turcotte and Matthew Poto all of Lewiston; two sisters, Theresa Evrard of Lewiston and Muriel Beaudette of Sabattus; a brother, Norm Turcotte and wife Janet of Poland and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Joanne and a brother, Roger. His family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Hospice House for their care of Richard and his family during his stay there.
