

He was born in Lewiston, Maine on July 16, 1941 the son of the late Roland D. and Juliette M. (Tanguay) Charest and had been a resident of this community all of his life.
He served with the Maine Army National Guard during the Cuban Conflict.
He was employed for 29 years at Enterprise Foundry as a molder and later a supervisor.
Robert married his true love Constance J. Morin on November 19, 1960 and together they settled in Lewiston to raise their family.
He was an avid outdoorsman having enjoyed hunting and fishing. He later purchased a camp on Tacoma Lakes where he enjoyed many good times with family and friends. He most enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by one son Gary Charest and his wife Diane of Greene; one daughter Tina Baril of Greene; five grandchildren Joshua Charest, Preston and Kinsley Charest and Joshua and Kyle Baril; two daughter-in laws Jessica Charest and Wanda Charest; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Constance Charest who died on June 2, 2018; two sons Donald Charest and Glenn Charest; a son-in-law John Baril; and a granddaughter Ashley Baril.
A private burial will be held a later date at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
