Robert R. Tancrede

LEWISTON- Robert R. Tancrede, 69, of Lewiston died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on July 28, 1944 the son of the late Roland and Irma (Aube) Tancrede and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He was educated in Lewiston schools and was a self employed business man who owned and operated Tancrede Building Movers. He married Elaine Lacasse in 1966; He then married Louise Pilote in 1999. Robert enjoyed weekends with his grandchildren, sitting by the fire with family and friends and watching old movies. He enjoyed restoring antique and classic cars, going to car shows and had an enormous collection of gas station memorabilia and antique toys. He is survived by his wife Louise Tancrede of Lewiston; a son John Tancrede and his wife Cory of Lewiston; a daughter Corina Tancrede and her fiancé Clark Bell of Lewiston; eight grandchildren Damien, Ryan, Angelia, Isabella, Christina, Benjamin, Shyanna and Collin; six sisters Rita Tancrede of Kingman, AZ, Irene Messinger, Theresa Montoya and Sue Howe all of Meza, AZ, Rose Ceton of San Jose, California and Georgette Cruz of Phoenix, AZ;

He was predeceased by a brother Richard Tancrede; and two children Nicholas Pilote who died in 2012 and Renee Pilote-Tancrede who died in 1994. A Memorial Service honoring Robert’s life will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Committal prayers will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Anyone attending the services, please feel free to drive your classic/antique cars for Robert’s funeral procession. It will be greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robert’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday from 4-7 PM at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston 784-4023.
