

AUBURN - Roger P. Charest, age 76 of Lewiston, died peacefully on August 12, 2008 surrounded by his family at the Androscogin Hospice House in Auburn.He was born on June 10th, 1932 in Lewiston, Maine; the son of Telesphore and Euginie (Morin) Charest. Roger attended Lewiston Schools. On July 18, 1953 he married the love of his life Patricia McCarthy at St. Patrick’s Church. Rogers’s passion in life was his family and his grandchildren. He was also a very accomplished bowler and in his spare time helped many of his friends and family in many ways. Roger had a 60-year career as a Master Sprinkler Fitter working for Eastern Fire and Automatic Sprinkler companies. Roger was a dedicated professional and took great pride in his work where he excelled. According to his peers, Roger set the standards for competency and professionalism, and held the bar high for all to follow. A long standing member of the National Sprinklers Union 669, and the Boston Local Sprinkler Fitters Union 550; he was admired by his peers and was known in the sprinkler industry as “The King”. He is survived by: His wife Patricia (McCarthy) Charest, daughter Sandra Charest-Davall and husband Gregory, daughter Tammy Klemanski and husband Michael; grandchildren Darcie, Desirae, Joey, Alex, Melissa, Zachary, and Bailey; sisters Carmen Smith and Lorraine Dussault and husband Donald and many nieces and nephews. CHAREST died in Auburn, August 12, 2008, Mr. Roger P. Charest age 76 years a resident of Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Roger's life will be celebrated MONDAY 11:00AM at St. Patrick's Church. Entombment to follow in the Chapel of the Rosary St. Peter's Cemetery Mausoleum.
