Roger T. Culleton

LEWISTON - Roger T. Culleton, 76, of Auburn left this world into the arms of his Saviour on June 12, 2008, at Central Maine Medical Center. Surrounded by his loving family, he succumbed to a short illness despite the caring efforts of a highly skilled and professional medical staff. He was born in Lewiston On December 4, 1931, the son of Thomas and Eva Culleton.Roger attended school in Mechanic Falls and left high school early, serving in the US Navy. He went on to earn his high school diploma at the age of 70, through adult education classes with Auburn Adult Education. In addition, he completed college work in theological studies during the past 10 years.Retired after a career in the shoe and timber industry, Roger also operated his own dairy business for a number of years before retiring from W.D. Matthews Inc. in Auburn. He served actively in his local church in every possible capacity, from Sunday School teacher to Deacon, choir member and prayer warrior. Roger enjoyed bowling, golf, cribbage and fellowship of any kind with family and friends. He was a friend to multitudes of people from all walks of life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Irene B. Culleton of Auburn; his sons, Michael Culleton of Turner, Marty Culleton of San Antonio, TX, Kevin Culleton of San Angelo, TX, and Todd Culleton of Nashua, NH; two daughters, Pamela A. Culleton of Auburn, and Kerri S. Taylor of Freedom; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildrenRoger was pre-deceased by his son, Randy A. Culleton and his daughter, Vicki L.
