Roland M. Laliberte

1918 - 2010

Lewiston- Roland M. Laliberte, 91, of Stevens St. died Thursday October 7, 2010 at d'Youville Pavilion following a brief illness. He was born in Lewiston on December 6, 1918, the son of the late Prudent and Wilhemina (Belanger) Laliberte. He was educated in local schools and then went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army during WWII. He married the love of his life the former Jeannette M. Doyon on August 21, 1943 at Holy Cross Church, she predeceased him in 2008. Roland and his brother, Raymond, owned and operated Laliberte Bros. Inc., a construction business they both took great pride in. He was a long time and active member of Holy Cross Church, the Holy Cross Prayer Group, the Holy Cross Choir, and the American Legion Post 22. He enjoyed boating and snowmobiling and loved spending time at his camps on Sabattus and Cochnewagon Lakes. He leaves two sons Paul Laliberte and his wife Anne of Cape Elizabeth, ME, and Robert Laliberte and his wife Sharon of Princeton Jct, NJ, 3 grandchildren Peter Laliberte and his wife Ena of Angola, Africa, Beth Reynolds and her husband Brian of Ashland, MA and Chad Laliberte of Beverly, MA and his fiancee AllisonWalker of Nashua, NH, and six great-grandchildren: Colette, Cleo, Madeleine, Nicolas, Elise, and Kate. He was predeceased by three brothers Raymond, Adelard and Oscar. Laliberte, Roland M. 10/7/2010 - Visitation Fortin / Lewiston Sunday, 2 - 4 PM & 6 - 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church Monday 11:00 AM. Committal will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In Roland's memory, donations may be made to d'Youville Pavilion Activity Fund, 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
