Roland W. Samson 86, of 4 Hall Street, Lewiston died at the Maine Veterans Home Thursday May 13, 2010 where he resided for the past 4 years.
Born in No Grosveno Dale CT. April 19, 1924 a son of the late Wilfred and Mary Roy Samson, he was educated in CT schools. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was married to the former Helen T. Hadakin August 22, 1943. She died March 2, 1995.
Mr. Samson was a former member of St. Patrick's Parish and worked as a loom fixer and retired as a foreman at Quico Fabrics.
He loved spending time with his familly, and spending time at his camp. He enjoyed working in the barn helping with his daughter's horses. He also enjoyed flying in his son's airplane.
Mr. Samson is remembered for his big heart and generosity and hard work ethic.
He is survived by
his son Rene R. Samson of Lewiston,
a daughter Mrs. John Pamela Davey of So. Bridge, MA,
his son-in-law Timothy Chaplin of Poland,
grandchildren Debbie and husband John Stevens, Todd Monier, Lori Blossom and fiancee Jason Robert, Raymond Blossom and wife Jennifer, Tricia Kent, Justin & Shannon Davey, 10 great grand children, And one great great-grand child with one more on the way.
a sister Mary Rose Cote of Lewiston,
a brother Real Samson of Greene.
He was predeceased by
a daughter Sonja Chaplin
2 sons, Timothy and Rickwood Samson
2 sisters Laurette LeBlanc and Adrienne Theriault.
