

LEWISTON - Ronald R. Smith, Sr."Smitty", 69, a resident of Greene died Monday evening at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center with family by his side following a long illness. He was born in Boston, MA. August 1, 1938, the son of Lewis M. and Gladys H. (Moore) Smith. He grew up in Quincy, MA., then moved to Maine early in life where he was employed as a master mechanic for many auto dealers in the Lewiston and Auburn area. Mr. Smith was a former Boy Scout leader for Troop #113 in Greene. His hobbies included being an avid outdoor enthusiast, working on cars, and enjoying his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Joyce (Quinlan) Smith of Greene; three daughters, Barbara Dupuis and husband, Jean of Greene; Janice Gagne and Judy Smith both of Lewiston; one son, Ronald R. Smith, Jr., and his wife Julie of Greene; one brother, Karl Smith and his wife Chris of E. Bridgewater, MA., and also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Michelle, Kevin, Adam, Clarissa, Megan, Alec, Jacob, and Jaime-Lyn. SMITH died in Lewiston, June 30, 2008, Mr. Ronald R. Smith, Sr.,"Smitty" age 69 years a resident of Greene. Memorial services honoring his life will be held SATURDAY 2:00PM followed by military honors from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Marius Glebocki presiding.
