Theresa M. Bellemare

Born in Portland, Maine, on October 3, 1932, she was the daughter of Antonio and Alice (Poitras) Mastroluca. She graduated from Portland High School in 1950. On June 6, 1953 she married Jean Bellemare. They were married 52 years, until Jean’s passing in 2005. The couple raised their two children, Debra and Michael, settling in Auburn where Theresa lived for the past 57 years.

Theresa worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance, retiring in 1994. She was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary Post 153, NARFE, and the Women’s Literary Union.

Always impeccably dressed, Theresa was known for her fashion and style. She loved shopping for clothes and makeup. She was truly skilled at home decor with a passion for creating beautiful and functional spaces. She enjoyed her trips to Portland for shopping and visits with her sisters, and looked forward to dining out with family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jean; her daughter, Debra Duperey; her son-in law, Michael Duperey; her great-granddaughter, Megan Barry; her sister, Janet Berry and her husband Edward; her nephew, Steven Berry; and her brother, Charles Mastroluca.

She is survived by her son, Michael Bellemare and his wife Ann. Her granddaughters, Laurie Barry and her husband Joe; Jodi Robichaud and her husband Brad; and Nicole Rioux. Great-grandchildren, Michael Barry and his wife Taylor, Matthew Barry, Kristen Barry, Jay Robichaud, Caleb Robichaud, and Amora L’Heureux. Her sisters, Donna Loring and her husband Jack; Madeline Carroll and her husband Daniel. Her brother, Roland Mastroluca and his wife Dora. Many nieces and nephews, including her niece Lisa Berry, whom she spent holidays with and looked forward to their weekly phone conversations together.

A special thank you to her many neighbors who always checked in and looked out for her.

A visitation will be held Monday August 18, 2025 from 4-7pm at 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway Lewiston, ME 04240.

Funeral Services will be held privately.
