

LEWISTON- William E. Asselin, 99, of 57 Ridgewood Avenue, Lewiston died Thursday morning June 13, 2013 at Montello Manor. He was born in Lincoln, Maine on November 28, 1913 the son of Fildes and Dora (Caron) Eslin and had been a resident of this community for all of his life. He worked for many years in the local textile industry and doing odd jobs. He was a member of Holy Family Church. William enjoyed woodworking, building furniture and is best known for his banana bread.
He is survived by two sons Richard Asselin Sr. and his wife Laura of Lewiston and William Asselin of Auburn; two daughters Linda Allen and her husband Roger of Auburn and Joan Letourneau of Lewiston; two brothers Ralph Asselin of Auburn and Joseph Asselin of Florida; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Asselin (Jacques) and by a son Gerald J. Asselin. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed at www.lynchbrothers.com . A Memorial Mass honoring William’s life will be celebrated on Thursday June 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Holy Family Church. Committal services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
