Alvin Sharpe Jr.

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Alvin W. Sharpe, Jr., 80, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015, St. James Lutheran Church in Red Bank with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 125 Park St., Lexington, SC 29072.

Mr. Sharpe was born April 21, 1935 in Winnsboro, SC to the late, Alvin W. Sharpe, Sr. and Bessie Mae Chalmers Sharpe and passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, a former Mason and Woodman of the World. He retired as a Diesel Mechanic and in later years restored Volkswagens as a hobby.

He is survived by his sons, Michael W. Sharpe (Teresa) and Dwight E. Sharpe (Deanna) of Lexington; sister, Vera Snelgrove (Bill) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Gregg, Steven, Amanda and Eric A. Sharpe; four great-grandchildren, Graclyn, Wyatt, Kaitlyn and Michael Sharpe. Mr. Sharpe is predeceased by wife of 57 years, Doris Yvonne Slyce Sharpe and his brother, Ernest E. Sharpe.

Pallbearers are Mark Snelgrove, Keith Draft, Chad Snelgrove, Gregg Sharpe, Steven Sharpe and Eric A. Sharpe.
