Barbara Dominick

LEXINGTON – A graveside service for Barbara Patricia Dominick, 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Celestial Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Dominick was born November 1, 1934 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Lillian Hammond Dominick Moore and step-daughter of Robert C. Moore. Ms. Dominick was a graduate of Eau Claire High School, Class of 1952 and USC, Class of 1956. She was also educated from additional studies at Columbia College and Appalachian State in Boone, NC. She worked at Richland County District One School as classroom teacher and reading specialist, and also as a supervising teacher in the Teacher Education Program at Benedict College. From 1956 to 1975 she worked at Logan Elementary and from 1975 to 1987 at McCants Elementary.

Barbara was fun loving, enjoyed being around people and sharing. The loves of her life were her pet dogs and going to church. She was a best friend of Edward Hammond. To know Barbara was a pleasure in life; she had a smile and happiness about her that was of the true Southern spirit of love and family.

Ms. Dominick is survived by her cousins, Edward and Bobby Hammond, both of Lexington.
