Bessie Lee Glenn

Bessie Lee Glenn was born August 19, 1949 in McCormick County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Jessie B. Anderson and Doramus Adams. Bessie was the wife of Barry Glenn and mother of Sherika Aaron.

Bessie was a very outgoing person, she never met a stranger. She loved family get togethers, especially during the holiday seasons. She loved to cook and enjoyed seeing everyone having a good time. She enjoyed traveling to distant places and in her later years, had taken up gardening. She loved watching sports and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.

Bessie grew up in Greenwood, SC and graduated from Brewer High School. She attended Piedmont Technical College.

Bessie was a retired Michelin Tire Company employee. She worked there for more than 30 years having moved from the Michelin US 1 Facility in Greenville to the Lexington US 5 Facility in 1981.

Bessie attended Brookland Baptist Church and was an active member until her health declined.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Barry and daughter Sherika (Kyler) of Lexington; mother, Jessie B. Benjamin of Greenwood; brother, Michael Anderson of Lexington; sister, Barbara Price of Lexington; sister, Lynn Drennon (James) of Greenwood; brother, Jessie Adams of Greenwood; special godson, Jared McKay of Calverton, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Bessie was predeceased by her brother, Larry Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, located at 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC, 29072. The service is scheduled for December 29, 2025, starting at 1:00 pm. Visitation will follow the service.
