Bettye had a lifelong passion for art and animals, finding joy and meaning in creativity and the natural world. These loves reflected her gentle spirit and her appreciation for beauty in all its forms. She was known for her quiet strength, thoughtful nature, and the way she cared deeply—both for people and for the creatures she adored.
She shared a devoted partnership with her husband, Joseph Brown, with whom she would have celebrated 34 years of marriage on January 1, 2026.
Bettye is survived by her loving daughters, Tammye Corbett (Bruce Corbett) and Farrah Schildknecht (Damon Schildknecht). She was a cherished grandmother to Kaitlyn Stone (Taylor), Garrett Corbett, Brilee Schildknecht, and Koen Schildknecht, each of whom brought her great pride and joy.
A service to honor Bettye’s life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Caughman-Harman Funeral Home. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to do so through acts of kindness, especially toward animals or through creative expression—tributes that reflect the things she loved most.
Bettye Faye Rivers will be remembered for her gentle heart, her artistic soul, and the love she leaves behind in her family.
