GILBERT – Beverly Ann Moore, 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. A private Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date.
“Bev” or “Bevvie,” as she was known to family and friends, was a daughter of the late Saul F. “Moe” Moore, Jr. and Hazel W. Moore. She was born in Columbia, SC on December 5, 1949.
Bev attended several academic institutions to flex her creative wings, including the Massey Art Institute in Atlanta, GA, the Ringling College of Art Design in Sarasota, FL and Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA, from which she earned her degree in historic preservation. In between her educational pursuits, Bev held numerous jobs. She served as producer of the television program PM Magazine in Orlando, FL for six years. She also worked for Restorations Inc. in Charleston and the Columbia Museum of Art.
Family and friends knew her for both her vivid personality and artistic skill. She painted, drew, was a fantastic seamstress, making beautiful clothes first for her niece and then for her great-niece. She was a thoughtful and generous gift giver, she loved her many cats and she remained a constant and faithful friend to Sharon Dickens, Barbara Nicely, Rob Walters and Pete Brown. In fitting with her personality, her favorite flower was the vibrant sunflower.
Bev is survived by her mother, Hazel W. Moore; sister, Sharon Moore Estes; brother, Wayne Moore (Ronni); a niece, Sherry Estes Bithell; nephews, Brandon and Chase Moore and a great-niece, Alexandra Bithell. She will always be remembered for her ability to find humor in the absurd, her quick, contagious laughter, thoughtfulness and creativity. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Bev was a supporter of the World Wildlife Fund and UNICEF and memorials may be made to any animal or animal rescue organizations. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
