
LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Boyd Bearden Wingard, 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the services at the church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Wingard was born June 5, 1929 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. He was a son of the late Reid Swinton Wingard Sr. and Inez Bearden Wingard. Boyd was a devoted husband, father, and faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church and served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. He retired from Seastrunk Electric Company and was owner of Wingard Electric. He was co-owner of A-Oak Farms Inc. Boyd loved to BBQ for friends and family at the Party House and loved supporting the Boy Scouts.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn Sox Wingard of Lexington; sons, Steve (Jeannie) Wingard; Bert (Wanda) Wingard, Mark (Margie) Wingard; brother-in-law, Don (Lisa) Kelly and their son, Ryan; grandchildren, Brent, Rebekah, Savannah, Joe, Hailey, Stefanie and Russell Wingard. He was preceded in death by his brother, Reid Swinton Wingard, Jr and infant son, Russell Boyd Wingard.
Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts Troop 425 at Zion Lutheran Church, 226 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
