He is survived by his son, Brett Gaston and daughter, Amy Morales; grandchildren, Kate McIntyre, Madison and Santiago Morales; great grandchildren, Skylar and Jenavieve; sisters, Jean Hendrix, Carol Gaston, Holly Kyzer, Paula Oxner, LaNell Gonzalez; brother, Johnny Gaston and his beloved dog, Buggies.
Burnett graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in 1963 where he played basketball, football and ran track. He is a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He retired as a nurse practitioner and volunteered at the Veterans Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. He supported many charities that are too numerous to list. He was cherished and loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services are held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 9:00 am on Friday, August 20, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at the residence of Ronald and Paula Oxner following services.
