Carolyn C. McGinniss

LEXINGTON – Carolyn Chambers McGinniss passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in Lexington, SC at the age of 55.

Carolyn is survived by her parents, Harold A. and Betty I. Chambers, Jr., of West Columbia; husband, Michael E. McGinniss of Columbia; daughter, Erica D. Poole of West Columbia; sister, Debra C. Murphy, husband, Steve R. Murphy, Sr., of Elgin and Vivian L. Shull, husband, Darrell W. Shull of West Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was born on May 31, 1960 in Sumter, SC to Harold A. and Betty I. Chambers. She graduated from Airport High School in 1978. Carolyn was married to her beloved Michael E. McGinniss on December 29, 1989; they were married for 25 years. Carolyn was the love of Michael's life. Mike and Erica remember her as a kind, generous, loving mother and wife.

Carolyn worked for many years and retired from Colonial Life as a Licensed Insurance Agent, but her true talent and passion was working as an Interior Designer at Chapin Furniture as well Marty Rae's. She loved life and her smile and laughter brought joy to all around her. Carolyn enjoyed Classical and Christmas music, entertaining family and friends with homemade gourmet meals, as well as everything about decorating for the holidays. Her faith was strong and she truly believed in the power of prayer.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2015 from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington SC, 29072. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, with entombment to follow at Woodridge Memorial Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carolyn's life.
