
LEXINGTON - Catherine Watson McWilliam, 78, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 with her family at her side in Lexington SC. Formerly of Kearny, Green Brook and Seaside Park NJ. Cathy was an awarded Teacher in both the Kearny and North Plainfield School Systems. Cathy was the daughter of James and Isabelle MacArthur Watson formerly of 48 Brighten Ave. Kearny. She married James McWilliam who had preceded her in passing in Dec. 2008. They raised four children: Ellyn, James, Glenn, and DanaRay. They moved to Green Brook, New Jersey in 1981, after retiring they moved full time to Seaside Park, a home where she and her family enjoyed many memorable summers together. In 2001, Cathy and James made the move to South Carolina where they could enjoy being close to their young grandchildren.
While raising her four children, Catherine earned her teaching degree from Jersey City State College and was a devoted English Teacher to her students, that devotion was only surpassed by her commitment and love for her family. Cathy would make any sacrifice necessary to ensure the well being, and happiness of her children, grandchildren, and her extended family. She will be greatly missed, and never forgotten.
She is survived by her daughters, Ellyn and her husband, Craig Bennett of Draper, Utah, and DanaRay McWilliam of Frisco, Co.; her sons, James W. McWilliam and his wife, June of Buckingham, Pa., and Glenn W. McWilliam and his wife, Beth of Lexington, SC.; and her grandchildren, Krisin and Trevor Bennett, Jacob, Wade, and Suzannah McWilliam. In addition she is also survived by her sisters, Ellen Sarvis, Isabelle Jocz.
A memorial service will be held at 12pm, Saturday March 2nd at Grace United Methodist Church, Kearny. A private inurnment will be held Monday, March 4th at Brig. Gen. William Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
