

Charles Adrian Whitehead "Chuck", aged 75, passed away on August 14, 2024, in Lexington, South Carolina. He was born in Lafayette, Alabama on July 6, 1949. Chuck was a respected member of his community.
Chuck dedicated many years to public service, initially serving in the Marines, where his commitment to his country was unwavering. He worked for the SC Law Enforcement Division and eventually as the Director of Public Safety for Lexington County. In addition to his public service career, Chuck was also the owner of Whitehead Pest Control Services.
He pursued higher education at the University of South Carolina, which further equipped him for his diverse roles in law enforcement and business. Chuck was also a published author, known for his book on the Milk Bottles of South Carolina, which combined his love for history and local culture.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter, Julie; son, Jeffrey (Alison); grandchildren, Arianna (Quinton), Camden, and Kaia, great granddaughter Ashlyn; brother, Hank (Becky); and sister, Ellen. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Whitehead; uncle, Headie Whitehead; and mother, Lila Pruett.
The funeral service will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, located at 503 N. Lake Drive, Lexington, SC. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 2 PM, followed by a service at 3 PM. Burial will be Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Fort Jackson, in SC.
