

Claudette West Miller, a beloved, faithful, generous, patient, and selfless woman, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on February 7, 1937, Claudette was a resident of West Columbia, South Carolina.
She grew up in Milledgeville, Georgia, and graduated from Midway High School in 1953. Claudette then attended George Business School, where she furthered her education.
Claudette was a devoted homemaker, wife, and cherished family member, known affectionately as Mama to her children and Gan to her grandchildren. She loved her family deeply and never retired from her role as a caregiver and supporter. She married John Loy Miller on December 1, 1962, and together they had two children, John (Jennifer) and Terrell. She was also a proud grandmother to John Loy III and Lauren.
Her personal interests included cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an active member of the choir at Cayce United Methodist Church. Claudette had a deep love for her more recent church, Mount Horeb Global Methodist Church in Lexington, South Carolina. Her favorite pastime was enjoying relaxing weekends at Lake Wateree.
Expressions of gratitude are extended to South Carolina Hospice, and her dedicated caregivers, Frances and Loretta, who provided comfort and support.
A visitation will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington, located at 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072, on December 31, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at the same location. A graveside service will take place at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, South Carolina, at 2:00 pm.
Claudette left a wonderful legacy behind and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
