David “Andrew” Evans

WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for David “Andrew” Evans, 25, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Cayce Methodist Church with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Andrew was born on August 11, 1988 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was a son of John and Margaret Evans. Andrew was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. He was the 2006 State Soccer Player of the year, 2005 All American, All State, All Region Soccer Player. He received an Athletic Scholarship to play soccer at the University of South Carolina but due to mental illness was unable to pursue his collegiate soccer career.

Surviving are his parents of West Columbia, Maggie and Randy Evans; brother, Jason Evans of Lexington; maternal grandparents, Arthur (Gwen) Fleming of West Columbia; paternal grandmother, Norma Evans of Irmo; godmother, Pat Griffin of Lexington and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Jimmie Lewter Fleming; paternal grandfather, Judd Evans and his dog, Kayce.
