He was preceded in death by his son, Joey Abstance.
He was an avid antique collector. He had antique toys, pedal cars, etc. He enjoyed working on his VW bugs and his 1922 Ford Model T.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Dix Abstance of Lexington; son, Michael C. Abstance of Greenville; daughter, Christy Owens of Lexington; and granddaughter, Kyleigh Owens of Lexington.
A visitation for Donald will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Lexington, 415 Barr Road, Lexington, South Carolina 29072, with burial to follow at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
