Doris had a career in the banking sector as a teller. After retiring, she volunteered at LICS. She was a charter member for over 35 years through the order of the Daughters of The King, after taking a vow of daily prayer and service. Her life has been dedicated to prayer and serving others. She always saw the good in others, even through difficult circumstances. Doris was one of Christ’s faithful servants and extended His love to others. Her main focus in life was her faith and her children.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Moseley of Belton, SC; son, David (Constance) Lovell of Newberry; daughter, Vickie (Lewis) Dooley of Lexington; son, Dewey “Buddy” (Kim) Lovell, Jr. of Columbia; daughter, Barbara Walker of Alcolu; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her first husband, Dewey A. Lovell, Sr.; second husband, Clyde O. Walker; and stepson, James Walker.
Doris will be deeply missed by her family and friends, especially her home parish family at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and The Daughters of The King, where she served for more than 35 years.
A Requiem Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 403 Park Rd, Lexington, SC 29072 with a visitation to take place one hour prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Parrish Hall.
