Dorothy Dottie Braswell

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Dorothy “Dottie” Braswell, 61, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1724 W. Main St., Lexington, with interment to follow in Lexington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice Care, 220 Stoneridge Dr., Ste. 105, Columbia, SC 29210 or American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Ln., Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Braswell was born August 13, 1956 in Asheville, NC, and passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Scott and Betty Hahn Burge. She was a 1974 graduate of North Buncombe High School and went on to graduate from Asheville Buncombe Technical Institute as an LPN in 1975. Mrs. Braswell was a former hospice/private duty nurse and worked for a printing company in Black Mountain, NC. She was a member of Old St. George Baptist Church in St. George, SC. Mrs. Braswell is survived by her husband, Richard “Lyn” Braswell of Lexington; sister, Catherine B. Gardner (Bill) of Asheville, NC, and numerous cousins and nephews. Special “thank you” to sisters-in-law, Nancy and Terri Braswell, and Amedisys Hospice Care for their loving and attentive care during Mrs. Braswell’s final days. Also, special thanks to brothers, Jack, Wayne and Albert Braswell for their love and support.
