GILBERT – Elaine Young Rich, 62, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014, after losing a hard fought battle to illness during this last month.
Throughout her adult life, Elaine worked in a variety of career fields: Cosmetologist for almost twenty years, sales representative for numerous gift lines, owner of the Basket Express and even Interior Decorator for a select few – all of these with the common denominator of making the lives of others a little better, a little brighter for her having been there.
Not only was she a loving wife, devoted daughter, mother and sister, but Elaine truly cared about those around her, making some wonderful friends through her life’s journey. May we all remember that she has not been taken from us, but surely, was well received in Heaven.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Julia Strickland and grandchildren, Laykin, Maddie and Saylor, along with her beloved husband of more than eight years, William “Bill” Rich.
Also left behind are her mother, Rosa Jackson with partner, Joseph Brock; father, Bud Young. and partner, Shirley Spencer and three sisters, Debra Montondo, Lisa Beaty and Gloria Smith, as well as nieces, nephews, step children and extended family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Loretta Love in 2010.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, at Shiloh United Methodist Church with family and friends received following the service at the church.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
