Eleanor Wargo

Ellie was member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Chesterfield, Virginia, and will be remembered as a caring friend, loving wife and wonderful mother.

Ellie loved her family and friends. She loved seeing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved traveling to beach vacations with her family, which she did often. The beach was her favorite pastime, even in her youth.

She made an impression on everyone she met with her beautiful smile, sweet warmth, and big heart. Ellie fought a very hard and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s for several years. Her strength and will to fight was an inspiration to all.

Ellie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Mezynski (John) and Linda Smith (Bob), both of The Villages, Florida; sons, Richard Wargo (Arlene) of Lexington, South Carolina and James Wargo (Kerry) of Kings Park, L.I., New York; sister, Laraine Scarlato of Port St. Richie, Florida; along with her 8 grandchildren: Suzanne, Kevin, Lauren, Morgan, Christianne, James, Samantha, and Alec; and 4 great-grandchildren: Trent, Emersyn, Sophia, and Ali.

A memorial service for Ellie will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 8901 Winterpock Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23832. A prayer service will follow at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23832.
