Garnetta L Anderson

WEST COLUMBIA - Garnetta Lowary Anderson, 81, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 8, 2013. She was surrounded by her loving children and family members. Thank you to the hospice care workers at Caris Hospice for their loving support and care. A special thank-you to care giver, Johnnie Mae.

Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of the late Edward Walter Lowary and Emmie Willis Campbell Lowary. She was born on September 10, 1931, in West Columbia and attended the schools in the Brookland-Cayce area. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, James Henry Anderson, Jr. in 2005, two sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by her four children, Delores (Snuffy) Goodwin, Allen (Peggy), Beverly (Freddie) Allen and David (Debbie); grandchildren are Lisa (Rip) Rainey and Dava Goodwin, Lauren and Kyle Anderson and Hannah and Jeremy Anderson; great-grandchildren, are Tripp and Reid Rainey. She is also survived by several nieces, especially Lisa and Lesley Wray and nephews.

Garnetta and family attended All Saints' Episcopal Church in Cayce since its founding in 1959. All Saints' Church is located at 1001 Twelfth Street, Cayce, SC. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 in the Smith Parish Hall from 4 – 6 pm.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 15, at Celestial Memorial Gardens on Delree Street in West Columbia. The service will be conducted by Rev. Alice Smith Haynes. Memorials may be made to the Altar Guild at All Saints' Church.
