WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Gladys Shull Schumpert, 91, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. David Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. David Lutheran Church, 132 St. Davids Church Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.

Mrs. Schumpert was born February 22, 1921 in Lexington County, SC and passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012. She was a daughter of the late George Calvin and Minnie Dooley Shull. She was the wife of the late Earl Solomon Schumpert. Mrs. Schumpert was a life-long member of St. David Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA. She attended Sunday School, taught Weekday Church School, was a member of the Young at Heart and Tone Chimes Choir. She worked for Oak Grove BBQ House until its closure.

Mrs. Schumpert is survived by her three children, daughter, Edith Gable-Hylton (Charley Hylton); sons, Donald Schumpert (Susan) and Charles Schumpert (Bridgett); grandchildren, Rick and Greg Gable and Erica, Darren, Andy and Carly Schumpert and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Caroline, Hannah and Gregory Gable and Caylee Schumpert. She was predeceased by her sister, Pearl Shumpert and three brothers, Hilton Shull, Ernest Shull Sr. and Murray Shull.
