Glenn Louis Meetze

LEXINGTON - Glenn Louis Meetze passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016. He was the son of Louise Nauful Meetze and the late, Grayson Carroll Meetze.

Mr. Meetze is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jennifer Sweatman Meetze of Columbia, SC; son, Michael Glenn Meetze (Valerie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Kimberly Meetze Norris (Jeremy) of Ft. Mill, SC; brother, Grayson Carroll Meetze, Jr. of Columbia, SC and brother-in-law, Dr. Carl Alden Sweatman, Jr. (Nancy) of Columbia, SC.

He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Hilda Rogers Meetze.

Glenn was a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He adored his wife, children and grandchildren, Isabelle Reagan Meetze, Annika Kate Meetze, Camden Jacob Norris and Emerson Jordan Norris.

Glenn was outgoing, loved people, had many lifelong friends and never met a stranger; but more than anything he loved his family. He loved the many family dinners, parties, Christmases and celebrations at the lake house that included egg hunts, water sports, fishing and other outdoor activities. He enjoyed spending time with his hunting buddies, Ron Asbill, John Seastruck and John Long. He was very thankful for their long special friendship and all the great times they had.

Glenn graduated from Columbia High School and Charleston Southern University. He spent many years in the banking field and worked as a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch and Wells Fargo Securities.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 256 Power Point Ln. in Lexington, SC 29072 following the service.

Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 1122 Lady St. #1000, Columbia, SC 29201.

Glenn was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be missed by all.
