Harold E. Payne Jr.

LEXINGTON – Harold Edward Payne, Jr., 83, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014. The family has chosen to have a private family memorial. Memorials may be made to the LMC Foundation, 2720 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, SC 29169. Columbia, SC 29169.

Mr. Payne was born June 30, 1931 in New Jersey to the late Harold E. Payne Sr. and Fay Rhodes Payne. He lived in New Jersey until he moved with his parents to Paisley, Florida in 1967. After his parents passed he moved back to New Jersey to live with his brother, Richard A. Payne, Sr. and his family. In 1995, he moved to South Carolina with Richard and his family where he resided until his death.

He was a kind, loving man who adored his family. He loved working outdoors and enjoyed doing yard work and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and must have done hundreds of them in his lifetime.

Mr. Payne is survived by his nephew, Richard Allen Payne, Jr. (Lynnette) of West Hills, CA; niece, Debra Ann Johnson (Bob) of Lexington; and his great-nieces, Julie Payne of Canoga Park, CA and Tori Johnson of Lexington; and great-nephews, Chris Johnson of Columbia and Matt Johnson of Lexington; brother-in-law, Julius “Sonny” Andrus of Scotch Plains, New Jersey and sister-in-law, Joan Pawlikowski of Delhi, New York.
